Ps from Martin

I really enjoyed Lord Nelson’s Tower in Edinburgh, Hebejebes in Liverpool and the Brightonian seaside where I found a special carrot cake.

Hoosiers tour countdown!!

It’s just a matter of days, nay half-days, till them Hoosiers kick off their October tour… We caught up with Sparkes to find out exactly what you can expect from it…

What’s new, pussycat? i.e. What can we expect from the tour?
Bar Alfonso now being “post-op”, we managed to discover the essence of “pop” (and I ain’t talking about the woefully disappointing Professor Burp’s Bubble Works) in Martin’s Swedish log-hut where we went in search of album two.

Sadly though, the essence of pop didn’t travel too well and evaporated mid-flight from Sweden.

After weeks in a modest east London studio and our collective bed-sits, we’ve managed to piece together scraps of melodic gold that no home should be without.

Will there be new tunes… Give us a hint about how they sound… pretty please…

Imagine the most wondrous sound ever imagined. Then add the way honey would sound if it was a sound, then add to that the most splentriffic noise the person nearest you can imagine. Then forget all about that because it’s not even close to how “mmmmm” we’re getting with our new noises.

We know we need big songs but we also want to show our balls. Big, shiny musical balls.

Will there be dancing? If so, ballroom, hip-hop or disco?
May-pole. We’re bringing it back.

Dress to impress? What shall we wear?
For our tour this month? The theme be: come as what you wanted to be when you were wee.

If you’re asking in general: Wear the dress of honesty or the jeans of prudence, the t-shirt of forgiveness or the vest of mirth. It’ll get you in all sorts of loop-holes (and maybe a holding cell if it’s all you go for).

Any fond memories from any of the places you visited last time… Any favourite cafés / bars / random places of interest you collected along the way?
Oooh, nice one. We loved York and it’s queerly named streets: Whip-ma-whop-ma-gate. Class. Newcastle stokes a mean pre-gig curry. That said we’re pretty dedicated to Pizza Express on the whole. I even met the head chef by chance last week. I was over-awed. Big fan of his work.

Not got your tour tickets yet? Bad fans!! Buy them in the Live area now. Oh yes.

Got suggestions of where the Hoosiers should be heading when they visit your hometown? Post ‘em in the Forum HERE.

Alphonso in the news

It came to our attention that the mustachioed enigma that is, Alphonso Sharland recently appeared in two charming regional newspapers in the matter of a few weeks!

Naturally, we assumed you’d want to have a read and take heed of his words of infinite wisdom.

So please do feast your Hoosier-hungry eyes upon the Crawley Observer HERE.

And wash it down with the fine wine that is The Bracknell Forest Standard HERE.

One of the articles may have spelt his name wrong but is forgiven because of the flattering nature of said article – enjoy!
