Writing, Rune stones and trees....and anime
source: newsHello.
We went to Japan earlier this month to play the summer sonic festival. That in itself isn’t an immensely ground breaking news story but it sure was exciting too play in front of a crowd so far away from home. For those of you who were there, thanks for being there! We had a great time both in Osaka and Tokyo. We did for the second time meet up with Frogman who is the creator of the animated movies “Eagle Talon The Movie – The Chancellor Only Lives Twice” and “EAGLE TALON The Movie 2 – The black oolong tea which loved me”. In the latter, as I’m sure we have mentioned before, Goodbye Mr A is used over the end titles but that isn’t the only involvement we have. Frogman threw in a hoosier cameo appearance in the mix and even based the bad guy on the song and hence named the big baddie “MR A”...wicked! Look here for a peek at how it looked.
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=OnbQt9lQAgUAugust also brought us to Sweden for a week of song-writing which we had been looking forward to for quite some time (some new pics are up from there). All the ideas we had gathered over the months of touring could finally start taking shape into something closer to what it might sound like on the next album, if what we have done so far actually will make the album that is. The plan is to show you some new tunes on the October tour or “Octourber” if you will. September will give us time to write and chisel out the foundations of the future hoosier sounds and continue what was started during that week of isolation in the wilderness of Stockholm’s northern archipelago.
We did some playing, some writing and some walking and spotting rune stones that the Vikings were kind enough to leave for us and at one point we tried to swim across the lake to what we call the “Cow-island” (Which is actually not an island but rather the other side of the lake where there are always loads of our mooing brethren hanging out) on an inflatable mattress but we soon gave up to the the sheer distance and the fact the the water was pretty damn cold. We lodged ourselves in some tiny little red huts and set up our instruments in the largest one which soon got the name the hit hut but we realized that this might have to be the shit hut if we didn’t start doing some work so work we did. You can judge for yourselves when you hear the next album if it was a shit hot hit hut or just a hut where we happened to stay for a week.
Regardless of that they were red with green frames for you to paint the picture.
I’m gonna cook some soup now. Might even poach an egg in it.
A mountain of love
