If you were a member of the old site (pre-2010), your login should still work on the new site, so stick those details in the header bar.
Once logged in you can edit your profile, leave comments, and so on.

If you can't remember your password, seeing as how the old site was offline for like ages, use the Forgot Password??!!!?? page to reset it; if you can't remember your email address, it's maybe best to just have a sit down and not worry about computer stuff anyway.
